About the event
This year, Lambeth Wind Orchestra’s Autumn Concert explores the power of music in storytelling.
From the spine-chilling echoes of Stephen McNeff’s Ghosts, to Leonard Bernstein’s exhilarating Overture to Candide based on Voltaire’s famous novel, and Guy Woolfenden’s Illyrian Dances, inspired by mythical lands of Shakespearean drama, music has the ability to tell stories without words.
Through our varied programme, and in our inaugural concert with our new conductor Sean Morris, we hope to take our audience from a winter’s night in South London to distant lands, times and feelings through the magic of sound.
