Lambeth Wind Orchestra is a new, friendly and exciting group of musicians who meet in South East London to perform a varied programme of music both for fun and for the community. We play classical arrangements, marches, popular music and modern pieces. We rehearse on Thursdays 7.45pm-10pm at St Paul’s Church Hall, Herne Hill SE24. It is 5 minutes' walk from Herne Hill BR station and the 68 and 468 buses stop outside. Please click here for a map of our location. There is some space for car parking and bikes can be kept in the hall where we rehearse. Lambeth Wind Orchestra is conducted by John Holland, a local musician and composer, originally from Watford but now settled in Forest Hill. He has over 20 years of playing and conducting experience with brass and wind bands across London and the Home Counties and actively encourages positive music-making in the community at all levels of ability. He is also a member of Forum London Composers Group and has recently completed a Requiem, which will be premiered locally during Easter 2009.
