From Gallifrey to Greenwich

It has recently been announced that Jodie Whittaker will be the next Doctor Who.

Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor

Lambeth Wind Orchestra was so excited by the news of a freshly regenerated Time Lord by Christmas, that we simply had to treat Sundays audience of the Greenwich Park bandstand to a rendition of the Doctor Who theme. This is the modern Murray Gold version of the original Ron Grainer theme, arranged for concert band by John Holland.

The weather was glorious and Greenwich really is one of our favourite venues. There are some more videos of this bandstand concert on the Gallery page.

If you missed your chance to talk to the folks from the Friends of Greenwich Park, you can see the upcoming events for the park here and please consider becoming a member. It's only Β£5! It is only due to groups such as these that keep the bandstands tradition alive.

We are next performing on Sunday 20th August in Clapham Common from 3 o'clock, and again on Sunday 10th September at the Herne Hill Music Festival from 11AM. For more information see our upcoming events page.
