Cool Fusion

The LWO is at the centre of a unique multi-media exploration of Olympic themes in specially-written new music, drama and verse. It’s called Cool Fusion : Composers’ Outlook on Olympic London. The composers and writers involved are taking a spectrum of starting points including uncovered history, diversity and the strong links between arts and sporting excellence in the making. The LWO’s versatility and creative rapport with other genres is apparent already as the work starts to come together.

Regular updates will be available from Cool Fusion’s dedicated website www.coolfusion.org.uk through its outreach programme with local community groups, and listen out for interviews with participants with Noel Bell on 101.4 OnFM, Fridays 12noon-2pm (transmission dates will appear on the website). One of the interviewees will be our conductor John Holland, who is also Artistic Director for the project and will be directing the performances, which will also include jazz(courteousy of LWO’s Roger Cawkwell), virtuoso paralympic pianism, electronica and a 5 star kitchenfull of percussion...
